Life at FLC during lockdown

Covid-19 and lockdown came as a nasty shock to all of us. If you or your loved ones have been ill, or if you have lost someone close to you, we hope that you are managing to get through each day and that you are coping as well as you can. We must all remember to be kind to ourselves during this awful situation.

Please remember that there are lots of organisations in Fife who care and are there to support you further if you need it. It is clear to us that the Fife community has really been pulling together to help people who need it most during this crisis. If you need help but are unsure where to turn, we can point you in the right direction so please get in touch. We can also refer you to other organisations where appropriate. If we can help you, we will.

Meanwhile, the team at FLC have been working hard to make sure that we support all our clients and help them to find a way through these difficult times.

We are also open for new enquiries and have been talking to lots of people who don’t know where to turn. If you have contacted us since lockdown, we hope that we have been able to help you or point you in the right direction. Our team are happy to talk to you, listen and help you to find a way forward.

Although we were forced to shut our office in Lochgelly and can no longer meet people in the Dunfermline Hub or at the Greig Insitute in Leven, we are still open for business and have been working hard to develop new ways of giving legal advice and representation to the people of Fife.

Our skilled and knowledgeable team are all working from home and you can contact us by phone on 01592 786710 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. If you have an individual email address for your solicitor, you can contact them directly that way and we have access to your file online so we can easily check your case if you have any questions. Of course, everything you tell us is confidential.

We have also been working hard on developing our new website. We are really pleased with the result and hope you like it too! You’ll see that we have included a new chat function. This means that, if we are online, you can contact us this way too. If you have a query, you can use the chat function to get in touch. If we’re offline, we’ll deal with your message as soon as possible.

Most courts in Scotland are still closed but we are keeping a close eye on this and will give further updates when things change.

Meanwhile, we have been dealing with tribunal hearings over the phone. Although this was a bit strange at first, we are pleased to say that it seems to be working well and we have had some positive results for our clients so far! At least you don’t have the stress of travelling to a telephone hearing and this can help if you are particularly anxious about it. Our solicitors are doing their best to support those of you who have a telephone hearing coming up.

We hope to be able to return to our office soon and we are working closely with the Ore Valley Business Centre team to ensure that this is done safely. We are still not sure how we will be able to meet you in the future but one thing is for sure; we will find a way!

We will provide further updates on how things are going in future blogs so keep checking the website for more information. Meanwhile, be safe and take care.
